A cartoony otter model based on my old personal otter model! Redesigned, fairly modular, and a lot easier to customize to your liking with the custom made tools provided! This took me 5 months and countless all-nighters to make.

Requirements & Guides

I use the latest versions of software (Substance Painter for example). So please be aware that if you strictly use older versions of software, they will not be usable for the files provided for this avatar. I do not plan on accommodating for the previous versions (or illegitimate versions) of software either.

FAQ

Is this avatar Quest/ Android compatible?

  • Yes but it's not "Quest/ Android friendly". It has a safety rating of poor at the moment. I do plan on remaking the meshes of the Quest/ Android variant in the future, but that will take a while and I need to work on other things.

👚 What about the clothing? Are there any?

  • Yep! And I plan to make a lot more when I can! Though, they won't be Quest/ Android compatible given the hardware limitations of the standalone version of VRChat.

Is it VTubing ready?

  • Yes. It's as easy as using an add-on on Blender to export a VRM file! Though, if you want clothing on it or custom shaders and toggles, you need to make your own UniVRM project in Unity. You can use the VRM file created in Blender as a starter. I'll eventually make an Unity add-on to make attaching clothing to a VTubing avatar (already have one but it's out-of-date).

Will there be support for Chillout-VR?

  • I hope so, but it's far from my priority. So don't count on it from me. I still need to learn how CVR deals with avatar customization.

📖 Can I study this base and use parts for myself?

  • Yea! If ya want to study how I did something (including the add-ons I made), you're free to explore around! Just know that they might not have used the most optimal solutions to work (the code specifically). But yea, I don't mind as long as I am credited. Just don't go selling the individual parts (See Terms & Conditions).

🔧 I don't want to use the helper addons/ I want to do things myself! Do I need to use them?

  • Nope! While this avatar was made with beginners in mind, you can delete the helper panels. In Blender, There's an option to detach the model from the panel and even delete the add-on panel entirely once you've generated an avatar! Just know that once you delete the panel, you have to download a fresh Blender file of the avatar to use it again. In Unity, the helper is not needed if you know what you're doing. You can delete it entirely.

💲 Can I get a refund?

  • NO... Because this is a digital product, NO REFUNDS will be issued once purchased. You've been given multiple chances to try it out and and see how the avatar works before purchasing.
