A feline robot with a detailed interior exoskeleton!

This avatar is an extreme edit of Zinpia's Zeedah, with this being such an extreme edit, trying to splice on addons for the Zeedah may be met with varying levels of success. This avatar has an entirely different set of topology, UVs, textures, rigging, and many other things. This being said, it is roughly the same body shape as the Zeedah with some minor changes, so any clothing could be ported with a bit of editing. It does, however, share a very similar armature.

Included with this avatar is also one of my prototype cloak designs that uses cloth simulation to collide accurately with your body, think of it as more of a bonus I threw in than anything else. More information on this below.

So if you're sick of your organic flesh, come try out a new look, become a synth today!

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If this avatar is uploaded in Unity 2019 instead of the new Unity 2022 version VRChat recently updated the SDK to, the cloak could be broken. So if you don't want the cloak to be broken, make your project with the new version of Unity that VRChat recommends.

Avatar Features:

  • Robotic body, including a detailed exoskeleton and a layer of wires around said exoskeleton.

  • All VRChat facial blendshapes for visemes and blinking.
  • 6 gesture animations attached to the left hand's current pose.
  • VRCFT support built in out of the box, no need to fiddle around with swapping controllers or anything!

  • A nose that also functions as a button! When pressed in enough, it will play the FNAF sound when you click Freddy's nose on a poster, this sound can be changed to whatever you want by switching the audio source. (Please do replace it with bruh sound effect #2 or other ridiculous things, I will laugh).

  • A material customization menu that allows you to do the following:
    • Minimum brightness radial slider, a feature that will make your avatar look brighter. This works fantastically in worlds with bad lighting, or if you just want the avatar to be fully lit.
    • Turn on and off the material outlines.
    • Turn off holographic hair/fur vertex glitching mechanic.
    • Transparency radial slider. This will make the exterior plating of the avatar transparent, and allow you to see the glorious exoskeleton in its full, terrifying glory!

  • A toggles menu with the following:
    • Hair toggle so you can disable hair and embrace your creepy robot look!
    • A toggle to turn on and off the fur, which is recommended to be used when using the cloak.
    • Nose button toggle on and off.

  • A custom cloak designed by me! (More about this in the next section)

  • An audiolink menu that allows you to do the following:
    • Toggle on and off all audiolink features.
    • 3 separated layers of audiolink emission for the body. Each one has:
      • A changeable color slider
      • The ability to make the layer flat instead of relying on audiolink

AS OF V1.1

  • Flat chest toggle
  • Version without VRCFT so there's less bloat for people who don't have or want to use face-tracking.

About the Cloak:

The cloak on this avatar is a culmination of the knowledge I have accumulated on researching creating them for VRChat. They do not use any bones, instead, they use the Unity cloth component. This has many upsides and downsides.

Upsides to this cloak design:

  • Looks really cool.
  • Has very accurate collisions.
  • Amazing collisions allow you to do things such as push one side of the cloaks behind you with your hand or legs.
  • Is incredibly fun to play with.
  • Is incredibly easy to fix when it breaks by simply toggle it off and on again

However, the downsides:

  • Requires micromanagement, you must treat it as if you are wearing an actual cloak by generally keeping your arms close to your sides.
  • Will pretty much ALWAYS break if it's on and you go through a door or section that teleports you to another section of the world. This can be fixed by simply toggle it off then back on.
  • Has a pretty hefty performance cost when on, but otherwise doesn't effect performance if toggled off.
  • Cloth components are client side, for you it can look completely normal and for someone else it look completely broken. A good way to avoid this is to toggle it off and on occasionally.
  • Pretty much only works while you are standing. (Good excuse to stand more and not sit lmao)

Even though it is not perfect, I have been waiting for the opportunity to put one on one of my for sale avatars. I made it for myself but also wanted to share it, so if you don't like it, simply don't use it, delete it off the avatar if you wish, even. Yes, it is not good for performance. Yes, it is very unoptimized. No, I don't really care this time about those things. I hope you can see past the flaws and enjoy it as much as I do!

How to set up:

  • If you haven't already, follow this guide to set up your SDK.
  • Create a new unity project.
    • Preferably with the newer SDK Unity version of 2022.
  • Import the VRChat SDK (Use the VCC tool for most optimal results)
  • Import the free version of Poiyomi included in the download.
  • Import the files from the provided unity asset file, open the "Synth Feline" folder, then open the scene file named "OPEN ME"
  • Upload ready.
  • Optional: Eyeblink is turned off by default, but there is sufficient blendshapes there so insert them if you wish.

Credits:

  • Zinpia's Zeedah, which the body was based off of.
  • Adjerry's VRCFT Template, which the controllers were built off of.
  • Many parts were retrofitted from this model by Zelad. They had to be heavily edited to fit the new body, and entirely rigged again. There are many other minor changes.
  • Liindy for providing the amazing cover photo and additional gifs in the description
  • Shader used is Poi's Poiyomi Toon Shader (free version included in download)
  • Song used in preview is Borderline by Tame Impala
