KAVINSKY PO-33 / PO-133 KIT (Gumroad)

I love Kavinsky! For me, he is one of the greatest producers out there. When his track Nightcall came out, I was all about trying to figure out how and why Kavinsky's drums are punching through the mix the way they do. I spent hours and hours on end stacking drums, shaping transients, exploring different compressors and types of compression and so forth and so on. I never really managed to nail that Kavinsky sound, though…well, until recently. When I was working on a track with the one and only Warm Synths (far out, dude), I remembered how I always liked Kavinsky's drums and that I really wanted our drums to sound like this on this track…so here we were again, trying to emulate THAT Kavinsky sound. And yeah, after some experimenting, after all these years, I was finally able to recreate that Kavinsky oomph I was after!!! Dude, I was so stoked! What a relief!!! So, to celebrate this "achievement", I thought it would be kinda nice to share a couple of Kavinsky style drum sounds with you…and since a PO-33 kit without synth sounds isn't really complete, I made a couple of one-shots and chord stabs as well. Since I was really glad about how this kit turned out, I was like "You know what? While we're at it, let's turn the demo part of this video into a fully-fledged Kavinsky parody"...haha, this was so much fun, let me tell you!
