Piracy Update (Just Don't...Please...) (Pixiv Fanbox)

We've had a good month with the new changes. A custom commission to start the month off, followed up by a custom animation made in-house by me. I haven't personally animated one of our releases since the first couple, during the change over from the old account. Between having to remake the account and then months of fighting the piracy site, which won't be named, I haven't had the motivation to animate myself. With other projects I have going on and the effort put into converting existing animations to VR, time hasn't been on my side either.

However a few months back I noticed my posts stopped getting pirated to the other site (I check it a lot). So I didn't have to check messages daily and send out the archive password directly. When the new plans kicked in, you guys came in force to support the changes, for which I'm very grateful, which is why I started animating again.

I'd like to keep it up and animate at least once a month or every other month and start with the polls so you guys can pick the characters for the animations I do personally. A new poll will be dropping right after this.

Anyway, all this is to say I see that the pirate site is gearing back up to start taking creators content again. They are bragging about getting around Fanboxs systems. I put in too much time and effort to just see all my stuff out there. I've post sound edits completely publicly on pixiv and have added a few VR releases to a public archive.

PLEASE, PLEASE, DON"T BE THAT GUY!

Whatever reason someone might think it's cool to upload my stuff to the pirate site, they're just going to fuck things up for everyone. For one, it's not going to stay there, I have an alert setup for changes and as soon as it's uploaded, I'm pulling all the passwords. Since their system auto updates, once it connects, I can't just put a new password as that would be immmediately taken as well. I'll have to go back to the old system of manually sending the password out to everyone. It's a huge pain for me and dealys access for everyone else. If that happens I'll probably stop animating as well and stick with the conversions of Naysayers anims, since tbh, I'm just pain sick of the back and forth and it I wanted it all to be public I would put it out myself, but again, the consistent schedule, the highest quality and QA put into these and even the audio design is all to drawn in people so that I can afford groceries each month at the bare minimum. Without Fanbox support, I would be releasing like 1 of these every other month or so, I likely wouldn't be doing full background replacements and animation polish passes on conversions and I def. wouldn't be adding audio myself to the animations. I know lots of people want everything for free and don't think creators have the same justification to get compensation for one reason or another. Just imagine that you went to your job all month, working hard and at the end of the month a huge chunk of your paycheck was missing and when you asked your boss what happened, he casually said, well, I just thought it'd be no big deal if you worked the last 2 weeks for free, I knew you were going to come in anyway and since you weren't slacking off I figured you did it cause you like doing it so it's cool.

For now, I'm in wait and see mode. I hope things continue on as great as they have this month, so I'll continue on as if that's to be expected going forward. I try to avoid posts like this, but if it even has the smallest chance of getting whoever leaked stuff before, not to or keeps anyone new from leaking supporter content, then it's worth a shot, especially when I get messages all the time from people referring to the most recent archive message on that site, which is back from September.
