[EN] Animation Update [Yor Forger] (Pixiv Fanbox)

Hey Everyone!

So I just wanted to post an update on the upcoming animation with Yor Forger. The animation itself was completed last weekend and all that I have left to do is to add voice sound effects. Since this will be my first normal animation release of 2023, I wanted to try doing something a little special for this animation... With that said, this past week I have been busy reaching out to various voice actresses and I have successfully commissioned both a Japanese VA, and an English VA to voice Yor.

What this means is that upon release, there will be 2 versions of the animation. A Japanese dubbed version, and an English dubbed version.

Why 2 versions? Well since the anime takes place in a somewhat "European-like" country, I figured that if there was ever a good opportunity to try commissioning an English VA for an animation, it would be now haha.

The other reason is because there were a couple roadblocks I kept running into whenever I tried to commission Japanese voice actresses in particular:

1) The first roadblock is payment related. Sadly, I no longer have access to the Japanese banking system, so finding a suitable international payment method that they would accept proved difficult. Due to the R18 nature of my works, some JP VA's I reached out did not want to take the chance of accepting payment via PayPal since PayPal is notorious for banning accounts affiliated with R18/Adult work.

2) The second reason is because some of the JP VA's I reached out to simply would not accept (or were not permitted to) voice characters that belonged to major anime series. (I know, I should have known better...)

However! Most of the JP VA's I reached out to that turned down my voice acting commission due to reason #2, told me that they more than willing and eager to voice future works of mine so long as they only contained original characters (OC). Admittedly, I have not made an animation with just Original Characters in a very long time, but I may do one once in a while since there are some wonderful very talented JP VA's I would love to have the opportunity to work with in the future.

Progress + Est. Release Date:

As for progress on the voice acting end. I just approved the 2nd voice recording revision that the JP VA provided to me, so they are currently working on adding some vocal effects before they send me the final copy. So that will likely take another 2-4 days.

The EN VA version is still in phase 1 of the recording so I expect that it will take another 4-7 days. With that said, I really want to release both versions at the same time. But since I did not anticipate how long this was going to take, and because it is already the middle of the month. I will release whichever version(s) I have this upcoming weekend.

Up Next:

While I wait for the final audio recordings to be delivered, I plan to work on one final animation that will feature Miyu and Illya from FATE/Kaleid PRISMA☆ILLYA. After that, I plan to basically spend most if not all of February on game development since I really want to get Day 3 completed by my estimated release date.

One-Off Animation Short:

Even though I basically spent all of last week going back and forth with various VA's, I did find the time to squeeze in a little animation short I felt inspired to make after rewatching the "My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU" series that I ended up releasing on Twitter and Pixiv. For those of you who can't view it on Twitter, please see the post linked at the bottom of this article. Just a fair warning that is it kind of a dark scene. (SceneData is also include in the post for everyone since I haven't decided whether to continue it or not.)

For VIP supporters, I still plan to release either the "Cafe LycoReco" or "Hinata vs Sakura" SceneData sometime this month. I just need time to clean some of them up first.
