Hey everyone! How was everyone's January? I feel like mine has been very hectic with my attention all over the place. Maybe I'm feeling a bit burnt out after running an art marathon these past few months, but yes, I think it's safe to conclude that I probably need to take more breaks between my artworks. I've had some of you scolding me through DMs that I'm not taking as many breaks so I'll try to do that this month if I can. Has this year been shaping up to be a good year for you? What are your plans for the rest of the year? Anything you want to achieve by the end of the year? Are you making preparations toward those goals? I think those are the kind of questions I often find myself asking at the beginning of February as the first month of the year comes to a close. Setting up a goal and thinking about the best realistic approach to reach that goal, I think that's what I do around this time of the year after all the celebrations are over and done with. As for me, I think one of my goals this year will be to go abroad again. With borders slowly opening, I think it's definitely an option I'd like to explore sometime this year. I'd imagine this time, it won't be world travel that lasts 2 years, unlike the last time I went abroad but maybe a proper vacation for a month or two. I think for me, traveling has opened my eyes to things I wasn't so aware of before, and experiencing a different culture, meeting the locals, and dining in exotic cuisine felt like a real adventure to me so I'd like to experience that again this year. You might think that probably sounds like a pretty trivial goal considering I work full-time as a content creator so in theory, I can just take time off any time I want and go enjoy a vacation. It's a bit more complicated than that. Funny thing is, I didn't quite know what I'd call the current job that I do nowadays until recently. I suppose the official title would be a freelance content creator. Most people have a big misconception about the sort of work I do, one of the biggest myths being that it's a comfy work-from-home type of situation and technically they're right but there's a lot more work that goes into it. Everything comes with a price and in exchange for the freedom to sleep in and not worry about commuting from work to home and vice versa, I think I spend a lot longer hours on producing artworks than you'd spend at a regular 8-hour shift works. You really need to have very good time management and stay on top of your schedules and deadlines. Being that art is a creative effort, some days it's just impossible to be creative when you run into an art block so it might throw you off your perfect schedule and deadlines which results in some days you end up working 10~12 hours a day to make up for the lost time. Haha, I wonder if I told you guys too much about my behind-the-scenes work life. Did I break the immersions of smokes and mirrors? In any case, I do hope you have a wonderful February! Here is this month's bundle from me! https://reine.gumroad.com/l/vol22/hinasan [Gumroad Link will automatically expire after 14 days] so download them before they expire!
