Status Update 10/29/21 (Pixiv Fanbox)

Hello, the artist here, I'll go by Arisa from now on.

Another status update to talk about the Visual Novel's current progress.

Writing

We feel there's enough writing for the first release build now for everyone to try out. The story will be ongoing. It's gonna be a lot longer and slower pace compared to other stories we have made so far since it's a visual novel medium. This first release focus on the Hunter of the Rift route which will contain Slow transformation. The Phantom of the Rift route is being written concurrently but won't be ready till next month.

Art

The first set of necessary characters and backgrounds art is done. All that's left is to make some expression set for a few more characters, and a few story focus CG art. I could've bought and used some royalty-free background art but decided to make everything myself. That ended taking a lot of time to make.

User Interface

The user interface is still barebone right now. Mostly still in default looks. I've only tweaked the dialogue presentation so that it doesn't look so boring and bland.

Music/Sound

Yes, there'll be sound. I've purchased some royalty-free music and SFX from DL site to use in this Visual Novel. Any sound that I couldn't get in the bundle I have downloaded from freesound.org

Scripting/Coding

We're using Unity Nani Novel Plug-in to make this. Neither of us has experience in scripting, coding, or programming. So I, Arisa, am the one learning how to do it, going through many trials and error-filled with frustration learning how everything works, and getting it to run. It's probably gonna take me a whole day to script out the rest of the completed writing.

Ideally, I want to be able to complete this by tomorrow or the 31st before next month.

P.S.

A couple of weeks past I started playing the Muv-Luv Trilogy for 'research' purposes and fell in love with it. Now I'm taking a lot of inspiration from that masterpiece to use in our VN presentation.

Also, we'll still be continuing our manga/short story webcomic as always.
