My guess is that dirty feet aren't generally pleasant to look at. Especially if the viewer doesn't have a foot fetish. But yeah, dirty feet in the anime would've been really nice touch imo.

well, even though these anime never strive for plausibility, I just think that would be more realistic (of course if a character wears shoes then she certainly won't have dirt on her feet)
