After Opal’s passing, Bede had power and was no longer under anyone else’s thumb. Thus, he let his ego run wild, and rebuilt the gym to his liking. While it kept its theme of performance, he added his own flare to things, such as having his gym trainers all wear bright pink leotards or skintight bodysuits regardless of gender. It also became the first dual-type Gym, with his old love of psychic types being able to express itself once more. Unsettling stories began to spread from those few who actually managed to defeat him, although they often couldn’t remember the whole ordeal for some reason. That said, you’ve heard stories of a mind-bending funhouse, dance-offs during battle, and hypnotic music and visuals to throw you off. You also heard rumours of what would happen if you failed: that Bede would brainwash you into becoming one of his gym trainers, or one of his slaves. You expected at least one of these stories to be true, but not ALL of them. But as exhausted as you were, you were determined, because you had your own reason to do this. Your partner had taken the challenge before you, and never returned. Before reaching Bede, you were shocked to fight your lover as one of his gym trainers. Clad in shiny pink and smiling absentmindedly, they said they still loved you, but were owned by Bede now, and wanted you to submit too so you could be together again. Surely this was all a trick; a clever illusion, right?
