Drawing metallic effects and textures is a lot of fun but it's also a bit of a nightmare...! The whole trick seems to be in the high contrast. But in this particular case I didn't want to go deeper into contrast and details as the effect fell into the possibility of looking "too realistic"...🤔? Getting realistic effects is definitely a cool thing, but sometimes it can also be counterproductive for the aesthetics of the drawing. I usually go for easy to digest but well detailed images so some overly realistic effects can look a bit out of place compared to the rest of the scene. Eventually as my art moves forward I definitely want to raise the level of detail and realism in my works but at the moment to get a consistent and harmonious drawing I have to aim for the middle ground. Doing a lot of everything I'm good at and adding little bits of experiments and new things to keep the ball rolling... __________________________________〆(・∀・)
