Drawing water effects is one of those things that is deceptively easy... ( ´ ω ` )┌ Once you have a good handle of the technique you can draw OK water without too much trouble...! However, unfortunately I don't really know how it all works, I just kind of have a "feel" for it. (That's the very wrong kind of "understanding how to do things" in my opinion). Anyway, I think this is one of those things that only works because the brain and the eyes have a processing limit, so when a complex enough object shows up the brain tries to take shortcuts and says: ► Yeah, good enough, that's water...(´ー` )┌ ◄ Bro, but tha's just a bunch of squiggly lines...!!! ► Shut up Visual cortex, if I say it's water then it 's water...ヽ(`⌒´メ)ノ ► Now let's go! It's time to try to find some clouds with obscene shapes...!!! Kind of lazy, but if we had to thoroughly process all the information in our environment, we would surely go crazy. I am thankful for nature being lazy...(─‿‿─)
