Questions about opening VLVT download files? You're in the right place!

Files are delivered in password-protected 7Zip archives. This helps keep the content online longer, and it helps keep you safe too. I know this is a barrier to some, but it's not very hard to use once you get used to it. All files are tested before upload to make sure they work!

Opening 7Zip Files

On Windows

I recommend the official 7Zip client. Once installed, you should be able to right-click any .7z file, choose "7-Zip" from the context menu, and "Extract Here".

It'll prompt you for a password, so just paste in the one supplied in the post where you found the file.

On a Mac

The built-in archive extracting feature (even in Monterey and newer) doesn't play nicely with fully-encrypted 7Zip files. I recommend either The Unarchiver by MacPaw, or BetterZip by MacItBetter.

Once installed, you should be able to right-click any .7z file and "Open With," or open the Preferences for either program and tick the option to associate that program with all 7Zip files system-wide.

When prompted, paste in the password supplied in the post where you found the file. The Unarchiver will create a folder and put it next to the file you're extracting. BetterZip will "browse" the archive, and you can choose to extract or drag the enclosed files anywhere you'd like.

Playing Video Files

Whether you're using a Mac, Windows PC, or Linux, all of my videos should play in VLC or MPV.io.

Troubleshooting

- Make sure you're using one of the programs mentioned above. Not all programs that work with 7Zip files support strong encryption!

- Try copy-pasting the password

- Try manually typing the password

- Try re-downloading the file, using one of the alternate links if possible
