Well, here we are. The end of another year.

If I had to look back at 2022 and sum it up for myself, I'd say that it's been a year of frustration leading into acceptance that things need to change and evolve so that I can do more on my end. As painful as it might affect me on a monetary approach, these things have to be done.

It's just, you know, excruciatingly stressful when the one way everyone can see your stuff, Twitter, is in a constant state of fucked because the captain of the Titanic was replaced by someone who claims to understand ships when all they did was fund the building of the ship. And then you have to find a new ship to jump on, but none of them feel as appealing as the one you're currently sinking on.

I digress. This year has just kind of been a bit of panic for content creators between that and the AI image vendors and the death of NFTs. Battle after battle like that can get frustrating when it comes to trying to make a living but said living is threatened. At least on some grounds things feel sunnier, but we'll see how it all fares.

But how about me? Did I do a lot in 2022? Maybe, I had at least one project outside of my own stuff that unfortunately hasn't come out for reasons outside my control, but that sort of gets to the point of why we're doing this in the first place: I focused so much on commissions that it didn't allow me time for other things I wanted to get done.

It's funny that with the lows 2020 and '21 gave us, this year just hit me the hardest. But I guess you never really know how bad it gets until you're knee deep in the mud.

I've already addressed the changes coming to my commissions in 2023, and even posted those changes publicly. Now, it's time to address the support side of things because yes, this is honestly overdue.

First off, after 2022 I'm no longer updating Subscribestar. Fanbox and Patreon will be the only pages I use, so if you're on SS and want to see more updates, make sure you join one of the other two pages. If you still want to support me through SS, I can respect that, but know that you won't see any new posts, changes, or additions coming to the page.

Second, here are the changes coming to each tier:

$1 tier

-tip jar

$3

-tip jar

-voting

-early access (comm)

$5 tier

-tip jar

-voting

-early access (comms)

-early access (mine)

-audio access

-prompts

$10

-tip jar

-voting

-early access (comms)

-early access (mine)

-audio access

-prompts

-400 word bank

The $1 tier is losing the voting access, meaning that it's merely a tip jar as thanks for support. The help at this level is already appreciated, but with the way Patreon taxes everything, I feel that it's necessary to bump up voting access to the next tier. Which means yes, the access to all prompt stories will be moved up to the $3 tier as well.

As you can see, a lot of things are moving up to the $5 tier, including access to the audios, which I'll talk about in a moment. Prompts are also being moved down for access as well, as I'm hoping to see more variety among supporters for ideas that can be written as the monthly prompts.

There's going to be a catch to that, however: rather than be 2-3k in length, these are going to be as long as I feel I can make this. I've realized that half the reason they've taken so long to get to is that I'm trying to find the right point to start at in order to reach that word count. So without a word count in the way, I feel like I might be able to get to them a little more easily than I have been in these last few months.

And the word bank has already been discussed, but to sum up, with the change in prices comes the change in word count for the tier. All the other tiers that had it previously no longer have it, but everyone still has until April to use up the words accumulated before 2023. After that, they're gone. Should you stop support before using those words, then your words will be forfeited.

As for audio, I'm going to be honest: I've fallen behind with this, took a break in November, and with being sick this week I ended up forgetting to touch on some things that still need to be done. Between that and the dip in yen affecting Fanbox, it's likely that I might be putting the audio on a temporary hiatus anyway, as that conversion in currency would put us under the $150 line, and I get the feeling these changes will affect support to some degree as well.

I'm ready to accept that. Change is scary, but it needs to be done. Maybe when I finally open up a store of some sort for audio (because yeah, Gumroad is doing a hike in what they take and I'm just not up for that right now, so itll prolly have to go somewhere else), we'll see if I can find a second wind in doing them. But we'll see how things go with the start of 2023, eh?

If this is your final night of support, your first, or you're still here for the long haul: thanks. The end of the year is rough for me because of my full-time job always affecting me on many levels, mental and physical especially. It's been great to know you're here, helping me so I can one day leave that job and hopefully get the rest of my life patched up.

I'm just going to hope that 2023 has better things in store for me. See you all on the other side of the Times Square Ball drop! Happy new year!
