Fanbox’s New Terms of Use (Pixiv Fanbox)

Before I start, I just want to make it clear this is only affecting my Fanbox uploads, not my Pixiv or SubscribeStar uploads.


Starting on December 15, Fanbox is updating its Terms of Use to further combat actual CP uploads. While I applaud their intentions, it has put a lot of artists on edge about how it might affect them. This is mostly because it was written in Japanese and the translations are keeping a lot of things open to interpretation.


After doing some research, it looks like the only artwork at risk are the photo-realistic uploads. Although I wouldn’t consider them photo-realistic, I have uploaded artwork that can be considered mostly realistic, so I don’t think they’re safe enough.


So unless something changes, I won’t be able to post fully viewable realistic artwork on Fanbox if shotas or lolis are involved. However, I will post thumbnails that preview enough without breaking the Terms of Use, and leave my email for those who want to view the full images.


Again, this does not affect my Pixiv or SubscribeStar accounts, this is only for Fanbox.


Furthermore, I will be turning the uploads below to the private setting on December 15. When these are gone, you can still email me for the full uncensored images.

It is definitely a shame, but best to err on the side of caution. Although it might be worth asking Pixiv to take a look themselves in advance. Even those linked works are FAR more stylized than the average 3d image, I could easily see them not falling under the new TOS’ purview ^^

I might ask them, but Pixiv support hasn't always been the best. I'm not too worried about taking those uploads down because they're still viewable on my Pixiv account. I'm also going to add new information in their descriptions about the uncensored images when the time comes.
