Slice of Venture Remake Diary #2 (Pixiv Fanbox)

Hello everyone,

As you can guess, we're going to go through most of the cast members in those posts (even if I have planned a couple more posts about other elements.)

So it's only natural that the second post focuses on Ayame, after Yuki.

I gotta warn you, though. You won't see as many pics as I posted for Yuki. And the reason is simple: We found a satisfying design right away ^^'

That was Ayame's design in Slice of Venture. For the sake of adding a bit more visuals and for all the people who didn't buy the artbook, let me show you the different design choices that were propsed back then.

The 1st one won with 35% while 3, 4 and 5 all got 20% (and 2 only got one voice.) I wouldn't have minded 5 but 4 was nice as well. Anyway, unlike Yuki, I was happy with the result. 1 was cute and not too revealing so perfect for Ayame.

When we started working on Ayame, I had a clear view on where I wanted some changes. One of the thing I wanted was bare legs. Ayame had a leggings in SoV, a pantyhose in SoV2, and socks going above her knees in SoS. So bare legs was a given to me. Now, bare legs doesn't mean mini-skirt. But I wanted open shoes as well. The only thing I had to find was a satisfying skirt and top. And it happened that I fell on a picture while browsing the web where I was like "Wait, this would fit Ayame!"

I asked PeakJump to draw the exact outfit on Ayame.

I saw the result and I was like: "... Well... this is perfect..."

Combining a T-shirt to a long skirt is a very good idea to me. It's not a combo you see often, let alone on characters with the body type of Ayame and I liked the idea of her having something that isn't supposed to be THAT feminine but that would look nice combined with the rest of her clothes.

Even the pattern on the skirt is taken from the picture and I like it. We did wonder about the shirt, though. Would full white be good? Wouldn't it be a bit too bland? So we tried different things between color change or logo/words on it and none of those completely satisfied me.

In the end, I think full white is the better option. The complex patter on the skirt compensates for the lack of pattern on the shirt. And a simple white shirt on Ayame kinda feels like "I'm letting myself go, but not too much." Which is, to me, quite on point with how Ayame would dress for a weekend in the countryside.

What do you think? I like the result a lot. This combination of subtle sexiness and cuteness wrapped with an innocent smile, isn't that the quintessence of Ayame?

In the end as you can see, her new design was quick to decide. And it will be that way for most of the cast. You'll see that in the future posts. But the next one won't be about characters. I'll ramble a bit about mapping because I know how much you guys LOVE my posts about mapping, he he 8D
