【解説】LoRA（LyCORIS）適用からの画像品質低下への対応法 (Pixiv Fanbox)

1.概要

この記事は、LoRAモデル（特定のコンセプトの画像を生成しやすくするもの）やLyCORISモデル（LoRAの発展版のようなもの）を強めに適用した時に現れる画像品質の低下に対応できるようになることを目的としています。

画像品質の低下とは、例えば次のものです。

それらのモデルを強めに適用すれば、モデルのコンセプトが表れやすくなりますが、画像品質が低下することもあります。

逆に弱めに適用すると、そのコンセプトが表れにくくなることもあります。

そのため、バランスが重要なのですが、バランス調整には手間がかかります。

ただ、とある簡単なトリックを使えば、この問題はある程度解決できます。

このトリックについて、解説していきます。

4.解説

私の場合ですが、次のようなプロセスを経て画像を作成することが多いです。

①txt2imgでの素材画像生成

　↓

②素材画像の加工

　↓

③加工画像のimg2img

　↓

④再加工

　↓

⑤再加工画像のimg2img

　↓

⑥アップスケーラーによる高解像度化

この時、①のtxt2imgと③のimg2img以降で、LoRA（LyCORIS）モデルの適用の度合いを変えます。

上の生成例で言えば、

0.5>

にしています。

これが、今回ご紹介するトリックで、簡単なものですが効果はあります。

txt2img画像からのimg2imgでは、元画像からの変化幅が少なくなりがちなので、txt2img画像でコンセプトが表れていたら適用を弱めていけます。

5.終わりに

このトリックは、画像生成AIの仕組みに由来するものです。

現在の画像生成AIはノイズ除去（元画像の予測）の仕組みを利用したものであり、txt2img（完全なノイズ画像からのノイズ除去繰り返し＝答えのない元画像の予測）とimg2img（ノイズをかけた元画像からのノイズ除去繰り返し＝答えのある元画像の予測）では、画像の変化幅に大きく差が出るのも納得だと思います。
