アゲハの幼虫、今日見たら一匹が脱皮して5齢の緑色になってました

早朝に幼虫のついた葉っぱを根元から切って、ツツジの葉っぱにポイ

夕方にどしゃぶりの雨が降り出して

流石に幼虫もどっかいっただろうと思って見ると

朝置いた場所にそのままいて、残り少ない山椒の葉をもちゅもちゅ食べてる…！

かわいそうになってこの一匹だけ山椒の木に戻しました…

この一匹くらいなら大丈夫…かもしれないし。

食害が酷そうならやっぱり４んでもらうしかないけど…。

アゲハの幼虫見たのなんて27年ぶりだし、しばらく様子見ることにする🥹💦

Swallowtail larvae, I saw today that one had moulted and was in its 5th instar green!

Early in the morning, I cut the leaf with the larva on it from the base and poached it on an azalea leaf!

In the evening, it started to rain heavily.

I thought the larvae had gone, but when I looked at them...

It was still where I had put it in the morning, and it was still eating the few Prickly Ash leaves that were left..!

I felt sorry for them and put this one back in the Prickly Ash tree...

This one might be OK...

If the feeding damage is too severe, I'll have to get rid of it...

I haven't seen a swallowtail butterfly larva in 27 years, so I'll just have to wait and see 💦.
