Hi Everyone.


This week was a productive one for setting a lot of work up for others by way of making sketches and assets which we'll get into.


For FANs seeking new content: I'm aiming for releasing two new Bindmancer builds this month. One next week and one on the 27th. So keep an eye out! :D

1: What's New?

So this week I worked on two key things:


One: Sketching out and animating the intro cutscene for the game that gives context to why The Bindmancer is entering into the dungeon.


The reason it has to be sketched out first is so I can give a contracted artist all the materials they need to make the most accurate content possible. Like what I did with the level select tower.


Two: Sketching out all the lore entries for the first wing (5 Levels) of the dungeon so that I can get an artist started on them.


I also worked on the system in-game for displaying the right asset to the right lore pickup.


This will take the artist a few months to get to but the results should be great!



There's also some other contracting-related prep-work I did this week. I've gotten into contact with a new programmer to see if he can lend a hand with the enemy AI and movement scripts. It's early days but I'm hoping he'll be able to work on the enemy collision issue.

2: What's Next?

I think for next week I'll spend some time focused on making a proper tutorial level that teaches the basics for how to play the game. It's been needed for a while now and once I've created it I can do away with the "Demo Controls" UI that's been stuck at the corner of the screen.


So there we go! Lots of work focused around getting some artist contractors the content they need to get to work over the next few months.


And getting more narrative and "lore" into the game has been needed for a long while now. I hope the added context and lore motivates players to continue on the Bindmancers quest!
