July: Plans & Updates (Pixiv Fanbox)

Hi, now that I've finished the short and had a bit of rest, it's time to explain some stuff.

First of all, I have to admit that working with some models are a love/hate relationship, even though I love to work with Sarah, I hate it at the same time because the model is way too outdated, the amount of limitations it gives got me really frustrated, there are so many poses I can't achieve right now. This sadly applies to many other "public" models as they are called (like Sherry Birkin, Alice Williams, etc).

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort these people put into giving models away for free to the community, but I think it's time for me to invest in better models so I can work better and provide overall better results for you and myself.

While I was working on the father's day special, I realized that I was getting burned out of working with Sarah's model, so I got the idea of scrapping the previous short I was working on and merge it with the father's day special, which gave us "A day with daddy". Luckily, I've managed to port the lightings and since I used the same male body, I could easily adjust it.

Now what's next? These are the plans:

To get better models I have three options that I'll review in this order:

- Ask other artists for the chance to get the current "private" versions of the models.

- Find a modeler to commission new and better versions of the models.

- Learn to make models myself and hire help to teach me and bring them to SFM.

Learn more post-production:

- I'll learn more about post-production, I will apply new stuff to the following animations.

Next animations:

- The next animation will be with Ellie (last month's polls winner).

- I have to animate Trilla Cal from Star Wars, I asked for this model and didn't have the time to animate her, I promised I'd do it several weeks ago.

- A young Ciri public model has been released, I'll give it a shot.

- After that, next animations will be with characters of my choice but based of popularity by a poll I will make in the following days.

To finish, I know Sarah is the most popular character, so my priority will be getting a better model of her first and after that, I'll make a new short with her. The following ones will be based on polls I'll make.
