With your support, I've been able to revamp our cameras for coverage!

NikonのZ30というモデルで16-50mmと50-250mmのズームレンズがセットになったモデルです。

以前まで取材に使っていたNikon１よりも少し大きくなりましたが、それでもコンパクトで軽量なカメラなのでとても使いやすそうです。

It is slightly larger than the Nikon 1 I used to use for reporting, but it is still a compact and lightweight camera that seems very easy to use.

なんで新年早々カメラを刷新したかというと、実は昨年の取材でNikon１の望遠レンズが故障してしまい取材に使えなくなってしまったのです。

ちなみにこの取材でレンズを装甲車にぶつけてしまったのが原因です・・・。

The reason why I renewed my camera so early in the new year is that the telephoto lens of my Nikon 1 actually broke down during last year's coverage, making it unusable for coverage.

Incidentally, I hit the lens against an armoured vehicle during this coverage...

取材雑記

取材中はなんとか使えていたのですが、帰宅後にレンズエラーが表示され撮影ができなくなってしまいました。

I managed to use it during the interview, but after I got home, a lens error was displayed and I could no longer take pictures.

Nikonへ修理を依頼しましたがすでにNikon１は製造終了しているモデルで修理ができないとのことでした。代わりの望遠レンズも在庫がなく去年は途方に暮れていました。

I asked Nikon to repair it, but they told me that the Nikon 1 was already a discontinued model and could not be repaired. There were no replacement telephoto lenses in stock and last year I was at a loss.

カメラに詳しい方はご存知かもしれませんが、カメラはシリーズごとに適合したレンズの仕様が異なり、このNikon１マウントはNikon１の生産終了とともに廃止されてしまい新しいレンズに交換することができませんでした。

As those familiar with cameras may know, cameras have different specifications for lenses that fit different series, and this Nikon 1 mount was discontinued with the end of production of the Nikon 1 and could not be replaced with new lenses.

非常に小型で機動力があり取材にうってつけのNikon１でしたが、こうしてお役御免となってしまったのです。

The Nikon 1 was very compact and mobile, perfect for news gathering, but it has been put out of service in this way.

とはいえ今年も取材が想定されるのでカメラ無しでは困ります。いろいろなカメラを検討していたのですが、この度このZ30というモデルに決めました。

However, I am expecting to cover the event again this year, so we don't want to be without a camera. I was considering various cameras, but I have decided on this Z30 model.

というわけで、取材機材を新たにできたのもみなさんの支援のおかげです。
