ミリタリー・クラシックス75号 (Pixiv Fanbox)

10月21日にミリタリー・クラシックス75号が発売となります！

今回のすずきあきら先生の『WW1兵器名鑑』のお題はFIAT2000というイタリアの戦車です。

Military Classics Issue 75 will be out on 21st October!

The subject of this issue of Akira Suzuki's WW1 Weapons Directory is an Italian tank called FIAT 2000.

なんとなくシューティングゲーム序盤に登場するやられメカのようなほっこりしたデザインです。見た目の通り鈍重で速度は出ませんが第一次世界大戦中の戦車の中では非常に重装甲な戦車です。

This tank has a heartwarming impression.

As you can see, it is slow and not very fast, but it is a very heavily armoured tank of the World War I.

この戦車の詳細は本誌を読んで頂くとして、じつはこの原稿の初稿では左右逆向きに描かれていました。みこやんのツイッタープロフィールのヘッダー画像はまさにその初稿の画像が使われています。

As for the details of this tank, please read this magazine, but in fact, it was drawn upside down in the first draft of this manuscript.

The header image of Mikoyan's Twitter profile is the very same image from the first draft.

ちなみにFIAT2000は最近有志の手によりレプリカ車両が製作されています。

Incidentally, a replica of the FIAT 2000 has recently been built by a group of volunteers.

作画時には随分と参考になったのですが、レプリカでは車体側面の搭乗ハッチが左右両側についています。ところがイラストで描いた量産型のFIAT2000ではハッチが右側のみだったということが編集部のチェックで判明したのです。

It was very helpful when drawing, but the replica has boarding hatches on the left and right sides of the car body.However, a check by the editorial department revealed that the hatch was only on the right side of the mass-produced FIAT 2000 drawn in the illustration.

ガーン！

残された時間が少ない中で描き直す時間はありません。幸い基本形はシンメトリックな形状の戦車です。えいやっ！と左右反転して事なきを得た、というハラハラした制作でした。

There is no time to redraw while there is little time left. Fortunately, the basic form is a tank with a symmetric shape. I managed to fix it by flipping the illustration left and right.

ところでFIAT社の乗り物はデザインが好きなのですが、このFIAT・テルニ トリポリという装甲車もユニークなデザインでみこやんが好きなメカのひとつです。

By the way, I like the design of FIAT vehicles. This fiat-terni tripoli armored car is also one of Mikoyan's favorite mechas with its unique design.

なんだかスポーツカーに装甲を施したようなデザインです。プラモデルがあれば欲しいですね。
