On the one hand we can see the latest policy change as Pixiv trying their hardest to force artists like me off the Fanbox platform. On the otherhand it might just show how hard it is to please the paypal payment gods.

Regardless of why, starting today Fanbox creatives are not allowed to link to external storage for works that they deem 'obscure'. Wether this will effect my Fanbox i've yet to see, but the likelyhood is high, there is just something about me i guess ;-).

So we need to be proactive here. How can we get around this situation, and what are we trying the achieve.

🥰 First Fanbox is a place for you to show your support for my artwork which i am greatful for every month.

🤤 Secondly Fanbox is a place to post some exclusive works as a thank you for the support. This has been getting more and more challanging Thanks to the policy change.

So there are a few possibilities moving forward.

1. Close the Fanbox and maybe find an alternative place. Problem is i dont think there is anywhere else.

2.Keep the fanbox page and post NO content on it. It would be the most VANILLA place in the universe. Maybe still tease work available elsewhere and run the monthly challange polls, but no links to exclusives.

3. Keep the Fanbox as support and social front page. Create some other page on some other platform for storing and accessing exclusives. I'm not sure how possible that would be. It would add alot of fuss with setting up new accounts and shit.

In the end it might all come down to how important the exclusive content was to your desision to join my fanbox?

Feel free to discuss in the coments.

Post the links in regular Pixiv posts, only post the passwords here?

I say keep running it to the very end, but Hiccears comes to mind if they offer subscriptions based services similar to Fanbox. I would honestly keep previews to your external storage links as vague as possible meaning I wouldn’t advertise explicit content or suggest it. Fanbox staff cannot actually view the storage files, but if they are actively checking for any potential obscene work I’d say tread lightly. So yes keep it vanilla as possible and you might have to do a serious reworking of your page to avoid being potentially flagged again by Fanbox staff.

I would continue to support you on Fanbox even it becomes nothing but VANILLA. I'm pretty sure I am not the only fan of your work that would do so. But it seems like to might be pretty tough to get new supporters if they can't see the amazing works of art. Not sure how tough it would be but maybe you could make the 'link' to your work part of of vanilla art...? Your fans would have to type the address shown as an image in the vanilla art into their browser to get to the obscure art.

Yeh it does beg the question how far moderators are going to go. Yeh lets continue.

One of the other creators I subscribe to does that and it works well enough, more clicking, but it works

It is frustrating, is it not? I will continue to support you while Pixiv allows you to keep your Fanbox going, as I have always enjoyed your art. A "misprinted" link is always a possibility - some use that, having a link without the two "//" at the start, for example, or a "?" between the two slashes. This makes it no longer an actual connection. A user can copy the text and paste into the URL box, adding the characters at the start to make the connection. I don't know if the auditors of this sight would be able to catch that, but it's something to consider.

Thank you all for your support and suggestions. I’m sure we can keep things going regardless of this policy change. I will look at making some changes soon.
