先日「たいあっぷ」というサイトにユーザ登録してみました。そのサイトに登録している小説家さんとコラボして、オンラインでの一冊を作りあげる、というコンセプトで面白そうだなと感じたためです。広告を見てアクセスしたのですが、まさか前日オープンとは思っておらず、募集からすぐに何件かの打診を頂き…嬉しいのは間違いないのですが、本当に右も左も分かっていない状況で戸惑いの方が大きかったです。

私はてっきり「小説家さんのストーリーを見て表紙を付けてあげる」のかと思っていたのですが、オープニングコンテストが開催されていたようで、打診してきた小説家さんも多くの割合でコンテストに参加する様子。

実はオープニングコンテストは表紙・口絵・挿絵最低3枚の、計5枚以上イラストを提供するというもので、表紙だけかと思っていたところに思わぬ罠でした。とはいえ、SNSで進捗も完成も発表しても問題ないという規約のため、これを普段の制作と置き換えるだけなので「制作の投稿が止まること」がなければいいかと参加することにしました。

締切までの期限は2ヶ月、2名の小説家さんとタイアップすることになりましたので、計10枚を提供することを決めました。普段の制作スピードは1ヶ月に10枚程度ですので、スピード的には問題ないかという判断です。あとは相談しつつ、方向性を確認しあい、完成までもっていければミッションコンプリート。
