As some of you may know, I recently got screwed, like many people, by Patreon. And I don't mean when I left them earlier in 2020. I mean in 2018.

In 2018, Patreon double reported my income to the IRS. That is, they said slugbox made "This Much Money," then they went to PayPal and said here, slugbox made "This Much Money." Which means they said I made TWICE what I actually did. This is bad. The IRS is very slow though, so only in January 2021 did they decide to act on this.

I was forced to pony up all of my savings, TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS, in order to avoid an incident. I'm currently working to get this resolved and get that money back but... in the meantime, we're operating on no savings, week to week, which hasn't been ideal. It just sucks. Patreon sucks. Even though I'm long done with them... they're still doing shit like this to me and other creators.

ANYWAY... I just wanted to say thank you guys for your support. I know I've been shilling myself out a little more than usual on public platforms. I know it's annoying. It's a result of this. I haven't gotten to a BEGGING point yet, but I wanted to at least let you guys here know what's going on. Having your support really means everything to me. Literally it does. I'm so fortunate that I have people happy to support me financially in content that not everyone is ready to back. You guys are awesome. Truly the coolest.
