I've shown this before but it is such a quick and easy fix I use it a lot. I've been processing more shots from PAX and face/body takes a real battering over a con day and by the time I photograph is its not always looking even with smudges and patchiness.

So what I do is 

  • Create a new layer above the image
  • Change its 'Layer Mode' to 'Color' 
  • Get the colour picker tool and select a midtone sample of the skin (midtime green in this case staying away from areas of highlight of shadow)
  • Paint over the skin, i usually do all the skin as you can see subtle differences in areas you have painted and haven't

This process usually takes 1-2 minutes, you could do with frequency separation but I just add more complication than needed.
