Before|After - Game of Thrones (Patreon)

Popular shot from the weekends Goldnova. They had a cast photo they wanted to get a similar look of which was going to be a change giving the lights I had and the short amount of time.  Couple of the main issues being fitting 5 people in the limited space, I had to move them back to make the wall bigger in the shot. Below is a shot using two lights one either side with softboxes and grids on. With groups its easy to do straight on lighting but it looks flat and not very dynamic. Putting the lights side on helps but then the characters cab cast shadows on each other.

I then put a back light on a stand and we has someone go behind the backdrop and hold its up and over which gave us the yellow hair light on all the characters which you can just see in the frame below.
