I really love drawing the relationship's evolution of my favorite ships, so this time too I wanted to show how these two learned to trust each other and open up on their feelings... I had a plan for them since the beginning: starting cold and insecure, they would've ended up melting in each other's arms with the implied promise of never letting go 🥺🤲💙

If you remember the first comic, they were both afraid of showing their feelings, neglecting kisses, even unsure if holding hands would've been appropriate... the past quest with Aventurine's backstory and their collaboration were such a rollercoaster of emotions that I immediately wanted to make them take a big step, and the first kiss happened 💖 right after I was like... dances are open, we gotta ball. And I thought that kiss would've given them the opportunity to push further away from their comfort zone, especially Ratio in letting himself go, but also Aventurine in accepting and reciprocating a love he didn't even dare to dream of... (maybe I love them so much because this dynamic is so relatable??)
