My coloration process is stabylizing around the "fuck around and find out" approach with colors, which makes it harder for me to explain the thoughts and steps around it fghjk 🙈

The first step is always the same: eyedropping some colors from the background and mixing them with the character's set color palette, but now I don't paint shadows on a Multiply layer anymore, I choose fitting colors and proceed on the same layer as the flat colors; same goes for highlights for which I don't use a Linear Dodge layer anymore!

When I'm unsure, I still use the Multiply technique to set where shadows fall, but I merge layers as soon as I'm done. I believe that once you gain confidence, working on lesser layer makes the process smoother and more enjoyable!!
