[NOTE: This is literally one of the first clopfics I ever wrote. I made it several years ago anonymously on Pastebin, and was hesitant to post it until now. Just note that this is M/M smut (obviously), and that it contains fairly dark content including Mind-Break. Reader discretion is advised.]

This story is an alternate version of the events before the Season 3 premiere.
Before Twilight or her friends could try and stop the evil King Sombra from reclaiming the Crystal Empire, a massive force-field of his dark magic encapsulated the city. Shining Armor and Princess Cadance are trapped in the city on their own, unable to receive any outside help. Their situation seemed hopeless, but Sombra wasn't keen on just eliminating them as they were. After all, he was a skilled strategist and figure of Royalty; what kind of leader would be be if he weren't willing to make a compromise with the married couple?

The Tyrant was willing to hear the two out, and even offered a compromise for the sake of his Kingdom. However, even though his offer wasn't accepted too kindly by either of them, he was able to negotiate an alternate version in agreement with Shining. If Sombra isn't able to take the Princess for the night in exchange for his surrender, perhaps her husband would be more strong-willed to take the task in her place...
