September Kick-Off (Patreon)

September is usually a stressful month for me. For the past few years, I've been going up to Michigan for the Frankenmuth Autofest, and staying for my nephew's birthday the following weekend. During that week, it's a miracle if I accomplish anything, because my brother's house is not a very comfortable place for me to work. His dogs demand too much attention if I'm upstairs, and the basement can get depressing...

This year will be a little different. My younger brother - it's my older brother's place I stay at - is moving his family to Texas, so there'll be no birthday party the week after the car show. Instead, my best friend and I will be going on a cross-country road trip. Sight-seeing, hiking, camping... it's easily going to take up the rest of the month. And as stressful as the last few months - if not the past couple years - have been for me, I'd say I'm overdue for a real vacation.

Drawing-wise, there are things I could still work on, either at camp sites or when I'm not driving. I plan on taking a bunch of pictures, and could do a series of vacation pics of my girls. The Candice comic is another thing I should get started on. I also have a one-page comic in mind to kick off Mary's Monster Month in October...

As a side note, be sure to check/update your payment info. This was something every artist on Patreon was dealing with last month, because Patreon relocated their headquarters. I wasn't concerned at the time, because my campaign was paused. This time it wasn't, so I guess the issue was merely delayed. The money isn't so much of a concern at the moment, especially since I may pause my campaign again at the end of this month. I'm more concerned about Patrons being denied access to posts over a technicality.
