This is a public update for those curious about my (Me/Michael/Gildedguy) recent proposal animation to Rebonkulous/Violet/Rebekah.

Event Detail

If you'd like to see footage of how this animation was first premiered at the AwesomeCon Short Film Festival, check out this tweet! (Big props to my brothers who hid in the audience to record the event).

In short, this animation was done in secret for half a year, while being in contact with the festival's organizer (Joe Carabeo), who was cool enough to let me screen it last Saturday.

I had a whole spreadsheet to track shots and whatnot, and it was a lotta work, but totally worth making the proposal extra special for us!

Rebekah and I found out about each other through our animated characters, and our creations have kept us close throughout our long-distance relationship. Dedicating animations to those I know is what I do best, so I had no choice but to express the fun adventures and feelings between Gildedguy and Violet.

The short is very much based on a true, real-life, story.

It is true, seconds after this picture was taken, I was attacked by this assholish bird.

Rebekah and I aim to polish and improve "Gildedguy vs Violet" with additional scenes, cleanup, and compositing. But until then, please enjoy this "preview" version in celebration of our engagement together!

Story 8 Updates

With the cat out of the bag, and the proposal project wrapped up, I will be focusing my full attention on "Gildedguy & the Dragon of Mar". We're about 50% done with the half-hour long short-film, and about 8 scenes into Chapter 5.

Pictured here is the shot-list for Chapter 4, which is 100% done with animation (with some spots of cleanup remaining to do).

We still have a couple of artistic frames to render as well, but the ones we do have are coming along real nice!

As stated in the previous post, we're gonna be less detailed about the production from this point on to avoid spoilers. But if you're real curious, feel free to ask questions in the Patron discord channel on our server.

I'm also open to answer production questions on stream!

There's still a lot of serious work to do regarding this massive project, and I'm committed to seeing it through!
