Ive been trying to finish my new long animation but it seems it is too much for my PC. It keeps crashing due rendering so I cant finish it rn, tho Ive ordered some extra RAM and motherboard(also new CPU thats why new motherboard, CPU will help with renders as well UwU) soooooooooo I really hope it will help >_<

Maybe if anyone using the latest AfterEffects version - do you have RAM issue? Like...When I work I need to restart it every 3-5 minutes or it completely freezes cause eats the all existing memory >_< (pic related, couldnt even make a screenshot lmao)

Cant wait to share my new animation with you! Hope the delay wont take longer than a day or two!!!

I might be mistaken, but I had thought that a GPU handles most of rendering, not the CPU.

Eipril's creativity is too much for machines to handle

Colord44

I hope this gets fixed.

If there's a cache, you might try clearing that as well, as there may be such a backlog that the RAM just gets eaten up by that. If that didn't work if you already tried that, then more RAM is necessary

Bird is the word

Sometimes RAM can be helped with a paging file, windows likes to set its own one, but ive seen with apps and databases doing a custom paging file helps the RAM massively. So the calculations would require the paging file to be in MB, to do this its 1024x=mb Example: 1024 X 16GB RAM = 16384mb Then minimum requirement would be 1.5x And maximum would be 3x Example: 1.5x16384=24576mb 3x16384=49152mb So I'd set my paging file as the example above. Hope this helps 😄

Could you make it a two parter?

32 gigs in the system to begin with?

Gaming wise yes GPU handles your rendering ( It is literally a CPU specialized for rendering ). However for rendering software, it by default utilizes the CPU and you can switch it to use the GPU if you have one that can perform better than your CPU being specifically dedicated to the task. In the case of most modern mid-high end GPUs versus your standard desktop CPU, it is.

I love this sketch 😂 hope you're doing well eipril and hope this new equipment helps!

Need better video cards and CPU like 4 or 6 core. Don’t know about ram memory that 32 G is fine but maybe it too old or weaker

Kirk

Damn, that’s hardcore.

Richard Awesome

This sounds amazing if it's killing your computer.

Maybe your PC running too hot for sex

Reptiles of Lustria

I'm sure you already do this but something that you can do in the interim to help is clear out the cache on your PC. DM me and Let me know what parts you may need to boost performance (Go for 64 Gigs Ram). Let me know what kind is compatible and I might send you a tip so you can pick it up. Love your work and happy to support!

I remember using After Effects and running into RAM problems in the past, and it always helped to use the Purge tool in the settings. I think I'd use Purge > All Memory to really just clear it out and let it rebuild what it needs. There's an article here that explains more: https://www.schoolofmotion.com/blog/after-effects-disk-cache

The same thing is happening to my pc but instead of the RAM it’s the GPU temp going up to 204°F

Shark

Uff you are steaming make sure to get 64 matching RAM sticks and that they have good speeds that should fix it

Valhymm

When you do the ram upgrade, just as a sanity check, make sure you put identical ram sticks in the paired slots so you can use dual channel mode, it's a small boost but a boost nonetheless... sounds like a fucking awesome animation if it can make your PC 🤯

have you considered giving it a good kick? Works everytime

So you’re asking all of us to donate $2679 right now

Some of the Aliexpress boards are rather decent, especially the Erying boards. I'm testing an i9-11980HK board now with 32GB RAM (might jump it to 64GB).
