The disadvantage of being a speed striker is that once you get locked on the ground, you lose a lot of your power. The advantage is that generally, you only really need like, ONE good hit. Submission specialists have to get a hold locked in properly, and there's a thousand ways they can go wrong. Until the setup is fully completed, their holds are useless. With striking, if you just happen to throw out a huge knee when your opponent isn't expecting it because they think they've already won...
