Ever take an art class in school? Seriously, your "homework" is "Go out and draw stuff". They want to see you fill a sketchbook with as much as possible. Hell, I was going to do that *anyway*, right!? Now I can get credit for it! Anyhow, these are how I "filled my sketchbook" at different points in college.

The first one is of a Postal worker being parachuted into Iraq-- this would have been in 1996. Saddam Hussein still reigned in Iraq at the time, and U.S. society was coming off a wave of workplace shootings that took place in Post Offices. In fact, the phrase "going postal" came about in the late 1980's and early 1990's due to an unusual spike in mass shootings carried out by Postal workers. So, my macabre humor being what it is, I figured we could combine these events.

I've always thought that "Hello Kitty" was just so amazingly silly and ripe for under-used satire. That blank expression could mean anything-- unshared joy, deeply harbored resentment... I don't know why I decided to take it in this direction, but I did.

One of our actual assignment was to "design a fantasy staircase". I've had some odd assignment sin art classes in the past, but this one was a bit unusual. I had no desire to draw a bunch of stairs, because let's face it, stairs are essentially boring. But I can find a work-around for just about anything.  Let Anubis guide you!

That's enough for now-- more later!
