The Soma Familia specializes in selling alcoholic drinks, the Soma (the Wine they make) in particular. Only the failed version of the Soma is sold outside of the Familia, and even then the price can reach a high amount. Soma himself creates this " Divine Wine" that he sells only to other Gods or he gives Member of his Familia a very small Amount, if they bring him huge amounts of Money. Thats why Member of this Familia are doing anything to make Money. They even Betray others, Murder them etc. to earn Money. Even Lili´s Parents were in this devilish circle.

Also, one other Thing: Lilis Transformation- Magic dont work on other Things. I cant say for what Zanis wanted to use Lili, but surely to trick others. Cinder Ella (シンダー・エラ): Cinder Ella is a transformation magic that enables Lili to transform into anything around the same size as herself, including monsters. She is able to copy the physical abilities of who/whatever she transforms into, though it's limited by her own status, and she can also take advantage of natural abilities like the Beast Humans' heightened sense of smell and hearing. Before she officially joined Bell's party at the end of volume 2, she often used Cinder Ella to disguise herself as someone else after stealing from adventurers.
