My issue with Rachel in the beach episodes is that she should have brought up her conditions for getting back together from the start. Ross should have had the chance to hear her out and take her concerns and wants into consideration before he broke up with Bonnie. As it stands it comes off to me as Rachel encouraging Bonnie to shave her head (though btw I think Ross’ reaction was very immature; if he really liked her it shouldn’t matter that much), leading Ross on to believe they would get back together if he broke up with Bonnie, then when he did just that Rachel suddenly has conditions Ross has to agree to if he wants to be with her again. So Ross ends up not back with Rachel, and no longer with Bonnie. Don’t get me wrong, it was 100 % Ross’ decision to dump her, but it just feels to me like Rachel was implying one thing at first, then making ridiculous demands the next. Their break-up was to a large extent Ross’ fault, but not entirely. Rachel absolutely has her share of the blame. I just think it’s weird that no-one (of the characters) seems to think Rachel behaved badly in these episodes when IMHO she was very unfair towards Ross. She certainly wasn’t acting out of love for him.

my take is she wants to get back with him but is cautious. having conditions makes sense since from her end of things ross cheated on her. she wants him to own that and take responsibility for that. he's still yet to acknowledged that and the pain that caused her. when they broke up and stayed up all night he never really seemed to get what she was truly upset about. i think she just wants that acknowledgement from him before they can move forward and heal. but as we can see he's still not able to do that. i don't really think she's being unfair given what he did to her and how he was behaving to her in the weeks leading up to their breakup. i think having *some* hoops for him to jump through (which really is just taking responsibility for his actions and nothing too extreme) makes sense given what he did.
