Oscar, you will see as the show continues that the Thanksgiving episodes are pretty classic. Regarding having the 2 holidays so close, I could be completely wrong, but I believe the first Thanksgiving feast between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans was held after the harvest in November and it lasted for a couple days.

The uncut DVD version of the football episode has a different ending. Monica and Ross decide to toss the Geller Cup down the garbage chute. Phoebe is at the bottom getting it for Monica, but as she's about to leave, Ross walks in to take it for himself. You can see it here: https://youtu.be/IbxnWYDPvHs A little dramatic but fun story is that Susanna Midnight/Voltaire, the actress who plays Margha aka the "dutch woman", was actually American but the crew did not know because she spoke with an accent for the audition. When they found out they were shocked. Also, the girl in the Brown Birds is played by Mae Whitman. She's been in movies such as Independence Day, One Fine Day, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Duff and a TV show called Parenthood. She's also voiced a lot of characters in animations and video games. This episode is from 1996 so she would have been about 8.

Oh Mae Whitman that’s right! I think she’s also one of the evil exes in Scott Pilgrim. And I totally forgot about that extended ending! It was so funny, they should have kept it in the aired version lol
