I love that this film wasn't afraid to get silly and not make any sense. FUN was the intention and it did not disappoint. Also Gru was absolutely hilarious! Enjoy :)

I have only watched the first two movies and the minion movie. I think those I have watched was quite fun, but this one is definitely my favourite. It's the one with the most heart, but again the others were very fun. I'd love to see your reaction to them. I'd also love to see your reaction to Megamind.

I still have yet to see this movie, so I’m excited to get into it!… I’ve only seen little snippets here and there, but one thing that makes me laugh is that Steve Carell is always Michael Scott to me, so hearing that voice with an accent is funny to me.

Hey just wanted to mention that this movie and the other despicable me movies are about gru but the movies that are named minions are specifically about them so if u want to see them as main characters and their story then I would really recommend them cause they are so much fun to watch

People like to dunk on these movies, maybe because the minions got oversaturated? Who knows. I've always liked these movies, I think the second one is even better, and the third is still pretty good. I can take or leave Minions, and haven't seen Rise of Gru so I can't say for sure there, but the other DM movies are worth a watch.

fun fact: My Math teacher back then showed us exactly the clip of vector when he is explaining how he got to his name, because it is literally the definition in math: "An Arrow with both: direction and magnitude" Was the only thing i got from math class

Ah the first Despicable me is a surprisingly good film, the mean spirited nature of Gru contrasted with the wholesome energy at times and the supervillain setting all works together excellently. Not among the great animated films but a solid one. Not fond of the sequels i think they dilute this formular too much.

I love about Gru as a character that he is a really good depiction of several things: the unplanned chaos of parenting, how much of adulting is just making it up as you go along and sometimes you win and sometimes not, how showing up is enough, and how attachment wounds can lead to a variety of ways of seeking to meet our needs that are ultimately unhelpful...or even harmful...but they dont have to define us forever. We can learn to form healthy relationships and create safe space. Very cute and fun, chaotic, fantastical, and yet very real story and character.

The sequels unfortunately do exhaust you on this story/world but this first one is still just so good. I also think you would 1000000000% love Dreamworks' Home from 2015. So sweet and funny but heartwarming. Love watching along with you. It's like watching with a friend. Except my friends would kill me for talking through films like I talk back to you.

I had a wonderful watching this with you. When this first came out I got to see it in theaters with my sister, grandfather, and I. Mt grandfather doesn't really like movies like this, but he did enjoy this. The girls in this movie sssssoooo cute
