Hey Marshmallows! Hope everyone is having a good week. If not I hope this can remedy that somewhat. I really loved revisiting this film to see if my past opinions of it have changed. I loved all the new characters introduced here and the landscapes in particular were astonishing. Enjoy :)

"No parent should have to bury their child." I'm probably the only fan in the universe who isn't gaga for this line. It's too modern, IMO. Even had Theoden King said such a thing, he would have said "No father should have to bury his son" or possibly "his child."

I see that, but also I kinda see it as a reply to Gandalf’s “Theodred’s death was not of your making”. His reply is “no parent should have to bury their child” in other words, “It doesn’t matter matter if this was of my making or not, no parent should ever find themself in this position.” So I guess in that way, it’s not just a blanket statement but rather a logical reply from Theoden as to how he feels about his circumstances.

It's amazing to me all of the things the cast had to do in these movies. You really needed to be in shape to do all of that running and climbing! Good heavens!
