We look back on the career of one of the greatest goalscorers of all time, the legendary German forward Gerd Muller, who scored more than a goal a game for West Germany and helped take Bayern Munich from obscurity to three consecutive European Cups.

But why is it that despite incredible scoring achievements he is often overlooked when it comes to discussions about who the World's greatest ever forward is?

Are there any modern players even comparable to Muller?

And is there about to be a major shock in the transfer market for one of the World's great modern day goalscorers...?

Great pod. Not a Bayern fan by any stretch but admired the guys skills.

This was great, thanks for paying tribute! Not at all a Bayern fan either, but full of admiration for him. I’ve never seen him live, because like yourselves I’m too young. However, my mum went to a few of the 74 World Cup games, she even went down to Munich for the final, and she’s full of stories and praise. So I had heard of him long before I could actually watch some of the old footage.
