Update time!

So the Gif above is a rather accurate representation of this week for me. I've found a serious flaw in my dialogue system design and have been completely focused on fixing it for the last few days. I won't bore you too much with the tech stuff, just that it has to do with the way dialogue triggers work (triggers are what I use to do things like start an animation, show a sprite on screen, play a sound etc). I'm still working on it and it'll continue into next week as well. 

I tend to spend a lot of time up front making sure my underlying code is robust, this means a relatively long time with nothing visible to show, but it really pays off long term. This current change for example will allow me to halt the dialogue while some trigger is doing its thing, allowing for things like complex scene transitions, mid dialogue animations, mid dialogue minigames and much more.
 

While I've been covered in oil grease, Phoenix has completed the rough version of the friend character. Once she delivers the final version (should be this week) I'll share that as well. Since I already have the games intro written and detailed, I'll next have Phoenix working on images for that. This should give her a nice break from simple character images.
