Hello friends! Normally I don't post on weekends but this morning after some casual painting I just had to share this fella. It took about a week of printing and gluing given he's easier to print in pieces. He'll be one of the big baddies the players of my Theros campaign are currently heading towards. Don't worry, they know this is coming given he's been a nemesis for some time haha.

My one regret: I could have sized him up 100% given I printed him in pieces. Folks don't be afraid to size him up some!

For assembly I used gorilla glue, then solidified the tentacles to the body by using a wood burner. I covered up any of the burn gaps with some green stuff, then primed it with Vallejo primer. Then I used Plaid paints for the dark and medium tones, Citadel shade for ... the shade.. then topped it off with Plaid for highlights. Finally I topped it off with a gloss varnish and here we are!

Full files are in Monster Manual - K - Kraken in all drives. Public link here

Ok time to make a weekend cocktail. Take care friends!

“Wood burner”? What’s that? And how does it solidify the model. Thx.

Its a hot metal tool used to decorate wood art, but it can also melt PLA so you can basically solder pieces to each other, solidifying it better than any glue. https://www.amazon.com/Walnut-Hollow-Introduction-Intermediate-Woodburners/dp/B000VRTG8Y/ref=sr_1_5?crid=DL0VMXWYY3C4&keywords=wood+burner+tool&qid=1636829900&qsid=147-6226332-4598627&sprefix=wood+burner%2Caps%2C152&sr=8-5&sres=B000VRTG8Y%2CB08CXDLY1B%2CB005P1TRAS%2CB09C215DDJ%2CB07YM3QS6K%2CB00JR233QU%2CB07MKM3ZXF%2CB09BYJSMB4%2CB08JG43J49%2CB08GX8FNBT%2CB08GKP47Z6%2CB09FDXJLM2%2CB07BJC1NCR%2CB09DPCQRST%2CB08HM1BLR5%2CB000EMBEY0%2CB07QWVHP5B%2CB096W2JHRT%2CB07KLW4CP8%2CB087CZQ2Z4

This is awesome to see cause I’m running a Theros campaign as well and was wondering what one of the Kraken painted models would look like!
