Ah hecc I'll go ahead and set this up now hahaha

Like I mentioned in the Results/Update post an hour ago, this is a survey to gauge y'alls' thoughts on the current fan art poll process with the RNG wheel~ To recap, this is what I touched on in the last post too:

Last week I got a complaint about the RNG wheel being used to narrow down the poll options and wanted to get y'alls thoughts on it too. (...) The main reason I tried out the RNG wheel in the first place was to narrow down all the options we get in the poll submissions. Patreon's polls only allow up to 25 options, and we've been consistently getting 26+ entries every poll for a while. That led to me doing that system of splitting the poll into two parts to get all entries in, which also got quite a few complaints for how complicated and confusing it was to some. Another option I tried in the past was to put the entries into the comments section and have you vote by liking the comment, but Patreon glitched out one month I tried that and didn't count lots of likes (Patreon also occasionally likes to randomly delete comments for some reason), so I don't see that as a reliable method I want to depend on for the polls going forward. Using another website for the polls is also out of the question since the link to it could be shared to folks outside of Patreon to skew the numbers, and I really don't want to resort to limiting the poll to 25 entries only since some of you Honoraries wouldn't even get a chance to enter someone if you weren't fast enough :/ So implementing a system of randomness across the board to narrow down the options seemed like a fun alternative to try out after that 'two part poll' system got numerous complaints~

So yeee, comment below on your thoughts on the RNG wheel, the poll process as a whole, any alternative ideas if ya have 'em, etc etc. :3c I'll be looking thru your ideas and thoughts and joining in the conversation if I feel the need tooo~ This'll all help contribute to my decision for the next fan art pollll. And ♡ any comments you see below that you like or agree with too cuz that'll also help me see what y'all are thinkin'!

Thanks y'all!~ More art be comin' soon here! T v T/

I'd say it's working out quite well so far. Aside from it being better to set up, it gives the more obscure characters a chance to get recognition. End of the day, it's still your call though 😁

SighzAllDay

^ I agree with the above. Wheel seems fine, and it prevents things from get stagnant.

Zahr

Out of the available options the current system seems to be the best

TankyRabbits

Current system works the best. For one thing, it limits on how many character actually make it into the poll and keeps everything manageable.

Mafiahamster

The RNG wheel works as it should, it makes the polls smaller while also making it fair. There is nothing more fair than pure chance >:) . I'm mainly here for your awesome art style and OCs , so anything you end up drawing is a win for me, fan art polls are just a bonus! :D

Spelt Wrong, but right.

I understand someone having a problem with the whole RNG when it doesn’t go their way. If I had a suggestion that kept getting missed by the wheel, it feels like a lose. But seeing the obscure choices and the obvious choices/winners getting missed is a balance of the scales. Like I said, it feels bad to lose. But if I lost that means someone won. And I’m not alone in feeling like I lost one month. I still get to pick my choice of the winners and get something I didn’t think I needed. I just offering, maybe every other other month you make it 12 or 11 choices instead of just ten? Just a thought to try and extend the winners.

SuperBird43

I admit it gets frustrating when my choice doesn't even get to be voted on, as well as times when *none* of the ten chosen are particularly interesting to me, but I do get why you're doing it like this, and truth be told I don't really know a better way of doing it - the only outside polling site I really know of is strawpoll.me, but you can only have up to 30 options there...

Rhaeasoul

Yeah. While a prevote could work maybe I feel like the rng wheel is better since whether it’s the newest internet waifu or some obscure 80s anime it’s an equal chance for everything. Unless you could somehow do a vote that makes sure people can’t vote for their own suggestion I’d just keep things the way they are.

TheMask237

I agree with the general consensus here that the RNG wheel is fine. However, if you ever feel like mixing things up every once in a while, I always thought it'd be cool if YOU gave US a list of girls that you wanted to draw, and we all vote on which one from that list that you end up drawing. You always treat us with such great art of all these characters that we tell you to draw; it'd be a nice change of pace if you got an excuse to draw someone YOU wanted to. :)

Omnicronus

I like the RNG wheel, it very random with its selection, cause before a popular characters would always win, leaving OC's and other unpopular characters in dead last, so with the RNG wheel every character has an equal chance of wining... its absolutely without question fair, if you need a example look at your OCs poll winner. I bet if you didn't use the RNG wheel, Dee wouldn't have won, with all due respect😁

Purple Paradox

To be honest, I really don't know what would be best. Having just the RNG wheel means things are 100% equal between all entries, regardless of franchise popularity/if they're an OC. But could feel like the voters have less impact, as there's no voting at all. And you could even be stuck with drawing something you don't want to... I've always seen my submission to the poll (usually my OC) as somewhat like a lottery: In that, I pay for my ticket (Patreon pledge), and throw my name in the ring. If I win, that's awesome, and I'll be happy about it for ages. If I don't, eh, it's not a big deal, because I have the rest of your Patreon stuff to look forward to! Granted, OCs (and similarly, less-known gals) will probably always be less popular for votes than say, Fairy Tail gals, or hard hitters like Tifa or 2B (not that I mind any of them! Just as examples). I feel like there is going to be complaints regardless from people who just want to win/want you to draw something specific. Sorry Mag, but I just really don't know what the best route for it to take is.

Abruptlee

If that strawpoll link gets shared outside outside of patreon could non patrons overload the ballot box?

Bee

Personally I like the RNG wheel, like most of the comments above me. It keeps things that bit more interesting, and even if it turns out to be a month where I barely know any of the characters involved I can still look at it from the perspective of "this isn't my month but I'm sure Mag's gonna crush it anyway" - such as the month Kallen won, I had never heard of the character but ADORED the art anyway! I get why some people might get frustrated, but I think ultimately it's just a fair system for picking poll options and I'm all for keeping it.

KingHomeless17

I like the RNG wheel system. It sucks that the character that the character you submit doesn’t get selected out of chance but you know you cant get mad over. I love the surprise that comes with the wheel and it takes the stress when voting in the polls because it makes it so much easier with less character polls. That’s what I think at least.

AT

To reiterate some of the previous comments... The RNG wheel is completely fair since it relies on chance, that way the less popular characters have an equal chance of being selected as the more popular ones. However, it can be a little frustrating when your suggestion in each poll consistently doesn’t get chosen by the wheel, and when you’re not particularly interested in any of the 10 that are chosen. Overall, the RNG wheel is probably the best system for the fan art polls; it makes them a little bit smaller and more manageable. My only suggestion would be to maybe raise the number of choices selected from the wheel from 10 to 12 or something. All in all, I’m just here for your amazing art, so I’ll like anything you draw. And at the end of the day, it’s your call Mag.

Stelladess

I quite like the wheel, I often got frustrated at how the most popular anime characters with tons and tons of bondage art of them allready kept winning the polls and I like that with the wheel its at least possible for a character who hasnt gotten a lot of bondage love or more obscure character to win, and means that there are fewer things to keep track off, when its 25+ different characters and 12 or so have a few paragraphs written its kinda hard to keep track of and know what to vote for, keeping it at a more manageable number makes the voting itself more manageable

Stelladess

I would be fine with another system too of course, im mainly here for art of your OCs and well, liking your art in general, but I do think I prefer the wheel compared to other methods~

Rhaeasoul

Even from the same creator it gets annoying that it’s always the same popular characters. I love fairy tail as much as the next fan but for a new anime and his most recent series Edens zero gets nothing; I think I’ve seen one pic of Rebecca and that’s it. Maybe one vote we could have only lesser characters and series

Thatguyknownasdio

I've mentioned my thoughts in the previous posting but I'm happy to include it here as well. I believe the RNG WEEEEEEEEEheel is to be the fairest way and, with as many submissions you receive, I'm sure it takes the edge off. Another idea would be a pie eating contest (finish first and you win!). I get most people are passionate about what they submit. I equally am passionate about my choices but, if I don't win, better luck next time! As long as our Magnolia is having fun herself and spreading joy to others, that's what counts! I'm proud to be part of this duck pond.
