Just to quickly clarify on the topic of the Jaffa and symbiotes from last week's discussion. The Jaffa are their own species. They were genetically engineered from the human slaves that were taken from Earth originally. They are BORN Jaffa. Once they hit puberty they require a symbiote. Now...you brought up a good point about Teal'c wanting to stop his son from being implanted with a symbiote back in season 1. This is true. And in that episode that was the plan. However, when Teal'c's son didn't get a symbiote, he got sick and ended up needing one to save his life. So the question becomes, why did Teal'c want to stop the implantation if his son needed one to survive? The answer to that is......no one knows. It was never addressed in the episode back in season 1. I suppose you could say Teal'c didn't know because it was never done before (don't disobey your God or whatever) but again...no one knows because it was never answered in that episode so your guess is as good as mine.

At the time, RDA and the mother of his daughter, Wiley, split up. Filming took place in Vancouver, Canada and Wiley lived in LA with her mother. He negotiated less screen time to be able to help raise her. He didn’t want to be away from her for long periods of time while she was still young.

I always took it as the jaffa were born human, then when they reach the "age of implantation" like Rya'c in season 1 they create the pouch similar to how Hathor did to Jack & at that point Jaffa lose their immune system. It is something that has never been made clear

Yah that's the story I heard. His daughter was getting old enough to realize her Dad was gone for long periods of a time so starting with season 6 each time he was up for negotiating a new contract he asked for less work time so he could e with his daughter more

When I first saw this episode, having a new villain that was immune to all weapons got me excited that a new threat was coming in, then as soon as Sam said the line "it's a Goa'uld I felt so let down & disappointed that a new player wasn't added to the board, but after that initial reaction wore off the idea of anew foot soldier to replace the Jaffa made sense to me

Season 1 definitely made things a little confusing. However, they are definitely born Jaffa. Not human. Ishta said their Goa'uld wanted female Jaffa killed immediately after they were born. He had no use for them. So if they were born human what would be the point in converting them into a Jaffa and THEN killing them immediately after? Unfortunately I cannot reference another episode to support my claim because Shan hasn't seen the episode yet. Check Discord.

Only thing worse than an unstoppable army commanded by an evil force is a gooey unstoppable army commanded by an evil force. Yuk!
