The actor who plays James Olsen left to film the movie Mortal Kombat. The movie started filming shortly after the filming of this episode.

I appreciate that James got to have one solid storyline (S4) before leaving the show. I really like the actor, I think he did a good job, just wish he had more to work with in the first few seasons.

Not Mexican, Shannan.....Spanish, they predominantly speak spanish in Mexico. It was a right choice for Mehcad to leave this show for Mortal Kombat. The show didn't really use him well. I think they are doing a sequel, so good for him. And I really liked him as Jax))) What I don't like is this season so far. I do not remember my original fellings when I first watched it two years ago, but rewatching it - is not exciting at all. At least you entertain me, Shan. So thank you)))

I don't think he specifically left for that movie but rather to focus on doing movies in general, as well as other projects.

Yeah, let's be honest. James was never a great character for the show. Jimmy Olsen would have been but this is not him. This doesn't cut anywhere near as deep as Winn did or Alex, Lena or Brainy would.

Honestly I’m not really sad that James is leaving, I never loved his character and he just wasn’t developed all that well. I feel like I’ve learned more about Kelly in the 8(?) episodes she’s been in than I’ve learned about James in the last 4 seasons, and that just shows how his character was poorly handled. In other more exciting news, crisis on infinite earths is soon, and the 100th episode is this season! I’m really excited for your reactions to those even though they won’t be for a little while.
