Redundant post, I haven’t watched this show, but after seeing you freak out about the Smallvile Green Arrow during the Elsewords crossover I had to see your reaction to Justin Hartley

Fly on the Wall

This season kind of feels like a reboot since they let go of the creator and showrunner Mike Kelley. I guess the new showrunner felt the same way you did about season 2 and decided to tie up all the loose ends during a time jump. This is one of my favorite shows and I honestly enjoyed the season 2 arc with the Initiative so I was a little disappointed as well that most of it is meaningless now. I'm with you there.

This season starts off really disjointed. All the behind the scenes changes stand out in the character lines, the way they deliver them, and how the show was shot. That combined with the time jump reset left me wondering what happened to the show when it first aired. I personally enjoyed the season 2 arc, but I don't hate the time jump. Once I got used to the new showrunner I felt more at ease. One thing I do hate is Charlotte. Putting an emphasis on her and making her into more of a "villain" doesn't work for me. The actresses was fine in the small supporting role, but these changes really show her limitations as an actor.

Oh, you're not wrong when you say the sunsets look like green screens. A majority of the scenes were shot on soundstages in the LA area. Random fact: The show has never filmed in New York (The Hamptons) where it is supposedly set. The pilot episode was shot in North Carolina. The same city One Tree Hill was filmed. After it was picked up it was moved to LA.

I really thought season 2 felt epic by bringing in the Initiative into a more active role. I was really disappointed when the new showrunner just swept it and the rest of the second season under the proverbial rug.
