Well the Alyssa situation couldn't really be helped as the actress was cast as the lead of her own show. But they could have been more creative. Majority of fans that I have seen share your thoughts about Hope's storyline and about the show just bringing on a guest star for a few episodes to be the female interest of Josie. With the exception of the Kai episodes, the show really has been lacking since everyone remembered Hope last season. I am starting to think they want this show to be like the TVD-verse version of Legends of Tomorrow. Except this season you just watched did things that you wanted Legacies to do. First they killed of 2 characters from the original cast They also introduced a female love interest for Sara without announcing they were going to be a couple in the first episode.

I mostly agree, but I think the Alyssa situation could've been helped. The scripts were written before the lockdown, sure. But the episodes 3x01-3x04 were shot in like September or October, by that time they already knew that Alyssa probably weren't sticking around for long, because her show ("Kung Fu" or something like that) was already picked up by the CW at that time, they should've just rewritten the episodes, but it looks like they didn't took the only advantage the pandemic gave them - time.

Pretty sure they had already finished filming all of season two before the shutdown. The reason the episodes weren't release (and this is true for most shows last year) is because the post production wasn't done. With everything being shutdown they couldn't do the special effects, visual effects, editing, etc. They also couldn't reshoot all that footage because show budgets have been cut to offset the costs of covid precautions. Oh, and they couldn't do anything to write off Alyssa in any new episodes. When filming started up again Canada, as part of their covid precautions, that actors could not be on two shows at the same time. They wanted each show to have their own little bubbles.

Where were these "artifacts" when other characters died like Bonnie, Tyler, Hayley, hell even Matt's mom...? Also, you mean to tell me Hope only wished for Landon back? I feel like they could of found a better way to bring him back without using something that could of brought Klaus, Hayley, Elijah, etc back as well...

Landon isn't dead. Hope's subconscious thinks she killed him, but that isn't going to be true. Hope couldn't kill Malivore because she hasn't activated her vampire side. If she can also kill Landon, that won't be true until she is a true Tribrid. I actually hope they go that route in the future and delve into the star-crossed lovers who can't be together because her vampire side got activated.

I agree with everything you are saying with Josie but part of it is bad luck. Season one they gave us her love story with Penelope. Even though they weren't together you could see they loved each other and she grew from that. Season two started with her having been with Landon for ~3 months. Instead of having her jump right into another relationship and making her character just about the people she dates they went with the dark Josie storyline. That story introduced Jade who was meant to be a love interest. The actresses left the show though so they pivoted to introducing a new character. MANY shows have problems with LGBTQ representation but CW shows are much better with it and are also learning as they go. I'm not sure it's fair to lump Legacies in with how other shows mishandle this topic.

I did some digging, according to Julie Plec's twitter, they were shut down during filming of Salvatore the Musical. And that episode became 3x03. According to Jeffrey Hunt instagram post, the frist day of shooting after the lockdown is his episode. And he directed 3x04. I couldn't find anything about Olivia being on set of Legacies, so maybe they shot her scenes before. and maybe you're right, that if she wasn't available that voiceover in this episode is all we could get.......but I still think there's a better way, maybe cut out the whole scene with her and MG becoming a couple and have her leave a phone message to MG that she decided to leave the school, now that she's no longer tied to the Necromancer and thanking MG for believing in him or something, I dunno....
