I had forgotten about the Supernatural "reference" in this episode :)

Maxwell Lord was only in Season 1, when Supergirl was filmed in Los Angeles. When filming for the show moved to Vancouver for Season 2 onward, the actor didn't want to go. So, the producers decided against recasting and just dropped the character altogether. Did you recognize Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman 1984? He's The Mandalorian on The Mandalorian. You saw his face in the season finale. He was also Oberyn Martell, "The Viper", on Game of Thrones. Who was killed by The Mountain in Tyrion's Trial by Combat, by poking in his eyes and then crushing his skull.

I meant to point this out a few episodes back when the Legionnaires briefed Supergirl on the Blight but forgot to. The Blight were first mentioned back in season two by Lyra, Winn’s girlfriend (hey, whatever happened to her?), when she said that they had destroyed her home world of Starhaven. So, this episode introduces a bit of a continuity gaffe. I guess Lyra could have been talking about a blight and not THE Blight, but based on her brief description it sure sounded like she meant the race and not some random disease. In the comics the Blight were a galaxy-wide threat that nearly destroyed the United Planets, literally, by completely sucking the energy out of all organic matter and technology they came across. People, cities, planets, etc., nothing could stand against them. Eventually, a small band of Legionnaires, Mon-El and Saturn Girl among them, figured out a way to beat the Blight back but only after dozens of worlds and trillions of lifeforms were wiped out.
