Rumplestiltskin and many others aren't Disney... it's Once Upon A Time... that goes for ALL fairytale stories not JUST Disney.

Most Fairy tales or public Domain meaning anybody can use them same for Wizard of Of Oz Disney has actually made two Oz movies. Return to Oz and Oz The Great and Powerful

Walsh being bad wasn't a coincidence he specifically inserted himself in her life we just didn't realize it till the monkey reveal. That normal guy thing has been done on other stuff before but here it wasn't ever meant to have you want to ship them. It wasn't about her having a boyfriend it was about the Wicked Witch trying to scheme. Also like others have said that OUAT is put out by Disney and does have a lot of the fairy tale, fantasy etc. characters Disney have adapted but it's not exclusively ones they have adapted before. Disney and other companies have the ability and legal right to adapt a ton of myths, fairy tales, and novels or characters and put them all together. First the characters in OUAT that are Disney ones are influenced by the Disney films(which are loosely based on the original stories to begin with), but they are also different in some ways to the Disney films and also have some other influences of the original Grimm tales or other authors or passed down stories but also with OUAT's own spin on them like all of them being together and also people interacting, being related or having different things happen to them in their history or filling in the role of a different character like how Gold is Rumpelstiltskin, The Beast, and The Crocodile. Also like I said it draws from other stories that aren't traditional fairy tales perse but are in fantasy or classic horror worlds like Oz, or Frankenstein some of which have or haven't been adapted by Disney before. So the bottom line point I'm trying to make is that the world of OUAT is a lot more than material just from the Disney films but now that they are in this you could technically say they are Disney characters now and really all along since they are public domain they could have in the past or could still adapt any of the character that have or will appear on OUAT that's one of the things I thought was so great about the show. We have seen a number of non Disney stuff already on the show you may just not have thought about it or may have forgotten about it. There is also some references and influences from LOST since some of the creators worked on both shows, including the actors who play Belle and The Wicked Witch etc being stars on LOST.
