You'd be forgiven for thinking that Adrian was Vigilante because that's exactly who he is in the comics, but the showrunnners pulled a Jay Garrick/Zoom by instead making him Prometheus, who doesn't really have a known secret identity in the comics, and of all the major villain unmaskings in the Arrowverse, this is easily my favorite if only for the bizzare way they did it midepisode rather than the end of the episode. I imagine most people rewatched the previous episodes after this one to see if Adrian was giving that creepy Prometheus vibe the entire season when you were supposed to believe that he was gonna end up being Vigilante

As someone who watched this as it aired, I too thought that Adrian was Vigilante, for several episodes leading up to this. And I think the show was purposely misdirecting viewers to think that as well. It was a great surprise reveal though.

When I first saw this reveal, I immediately went back and looked at all the previous episodes and Adrian has been manipulating Oliver since “So It Begins”. He is the one that made the cover up.

I remember the Prometheus reveal rocking me when it aired. Because simply put, for the first time in a very very long time in the Arrowverse, I had no fucking clue what was going to happen next. I get so hyped watching this episode, and I’ve been smiling to myself any time Adrian is on screen while you’ve been watching. The actor is so good, and he was giddy about playing a character like this. It’s just so cool.

Actually Prometheus' name isn't Justin Claybourne, that's his father. His birth name hasn't been revelead.

Shan, the actor playing Adrian has also been performing as Prometheus in costume since the season premiere.
